The National Agency for Mineral Resources, Endiama and Sodiam have signed on Tuesday, February 6, a Strategic Memorandum of Understanding in the field of diamonds with the multinational De Beers Group.
The confirmation was made by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, on the sidelines of the International Mining Conference, Mining Indaba, which is taking place from the 5th to the 8th of this month in Cape Town, South Africa.
The agreement aims to review a series of existing kimberlite deposits to reassess their economic attractiveness, identify more opportunities for growth in Angola’s alluvial diamond mining sector, work together to promote Angola’s diamonds and identify opportunities to develop the local community’s capacity for sustainability and social development.
He said that “the main objective is to continue to promote the potential of mineral resources and, with this, find all the ways to attract more investment to develop the mineral industry in our country”.
Diamantino Azevedo added that at the 30th edition of the Mining Indaba, Angola would be presenting new investment intentions and promoting available areas.
