On the morning of Friday 31 July, women working in the diamond sub-sector marked African Women’s Day at a ceremony organised by ENDIAMA.
The event was chaired by the executive director, Domingos Margarida, and was attended mainly by women working at the national diamond company.
On this occasion, participants attended a talk on the theme “The Identity of African Women: Roots, Culture and Future”, delivered by Verónica Aminata António Goubel, an actress with a degree in Journalism and a specialisation in Lusophone Culture.
At the close of the event, the participants were honoured with bouquets of flowers and visited the Exhibition of African Literary Works and Artefacts, in a celebration of African culture and identity.
