A delegation from ENDIAMA, led by its executive director, Ana Maria Feijó, visited the Lucrécia Paím Maternity Hospital on Monday as part of an initiative to review the financial support provided to the facility.
During the visit, the Director-General, Lígia Alves, highlighted the importance of the funding, which has enabled the modernisation of services, the strengthening of hospital capacity and improvements in the quality of care.
The support forms part of a memorandum signed in 2018, worth one million two hundred thousand dollars annually, between the Ministries of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas and the Ministry of Health.
Among the results achieved, the reduction in maternal mortality from 414.54 to 286.49 per 100,000 live births stands out.
The investment also enabled the refurbishment of areas such as the laboratory, the outpatient clinic and the gynaecology department, as well as the installation of oxygen systems and modern equipment, helping to strengthen maternal and child healthcare in the country.
The ENDIAMA delegation included representatives from the Department of Social Responsibility, the Brilhante Foundation and the Sagrada Esperança Clinic.
