Sagrada Esperança Clinic has reopened the “Okuvandja” ophthalmology project, with the inauguration of its operating theater, located in the municipality of Talatona, Luanda, after almost a year closed for various reasons.
With the capacity to receive around 20 patients a day, the CSE Ophthalmology Center will be open to people from all walks of life who come to that health unit in search of health care in a wide range of specialties.
The head of the Ophthalmology Department at Sagrada Esperança Clinic, Ana Nhamutenga, said that the institution will have 14 ophthalmologists, with various subspecialties, namely eye plastics, glaucoma, cataracts, strabismus, pediatric ophthalmology, neurophthalmology, among others.
For the general director of CSE-Talatona, Mário Gil Santos, the reopening of “Okuvandja” and the inauguration of the ophthalmology operating room represents “another step taken with maturity”, both from the point of view of specialized human resources in the disciplines that make a difference in the provision of care, and constitutes added value for Clínica Sagrada Esperança and for the National Public Health System.
Sagrada Esperança Clinic began its activities in December 1990, and is currently Angola’s largest private health network, established in 16 provinces of the country, with services in a wide range of specialty areas.
