The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, announced today (21) in Dubai, the work developed by the Angolan authorities for the improvement of the diamond industry in Angola.
The official, who leads the Angolan delegation present at the Dubai Diamond Conference, in the United Arab Emirates, emphasized the changes carried out at the legislative level, which resulted in the creation of the Saurimo Diamond Development Pole, the process of creating the Diamond Exchange, and the improvements registered in the productive activity with the attraction of new investors, especially the Anglo-Australian company Rio Tinto.
During the brief interview given on the sidelines of the event, Diamantino Azevedo also expressed his desire to see more investment in the entire diamond value chain.
"The future of diamonds" is the theme of the 5th edition of the Dubai Diamond Conference, in which ENDIAMA EP is represented by the Administrator for Geology and Mining Development, Ana Feijó and by the Marketing Directors, José Carlos de Sousa, from Studies and Projects, Ady Van-Dúnem, and Marketing, Communication and Events, Ismael Mateus.
Top managers from SODIAM and Sociedade Mineira de Catoca are also present.
It is recalled that on the first day of work in the UAE, Minister Diamantino Azevedo granted an audience to the CEO of De Beers, Bruce Cleaver, while the ENDIAMA team paid a courtesy visit to the company Stargems.
The conference on attracting investments for the Saurimo Diamond Development Pole is scheduled for tomorrow, the 22nd, to be organized by SODIAM E.P.
