The National Coordination Committee of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative of Angola met on Monday, in Luanda, to define the objectives and goals to be reached in 2023.
The session was led by the Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jâneo Corrêa Victor, representing the president of the NCC of EITI-Angola, Minister Diamantino Azevedo.
Jâneo Corrêa Victor emphasized, during the meeting, the importance of maintaining the logic and the work model adopted last year, during Angola’s application process, in order to achieve the best results in this first year of the exercise.
According to the Secretary of State, the organization has already approved its budget from 2022 to 2024, estimated in more than $1M.
At the occasion, the EITI-Angola assumed the commitment to hire an independent auditor, until March 2023, and has adopted 2022 as the fiscal reference year of its first report.
