Fundação Brilhante- the social face of the diamond subsector- has recently handed over formally the keys to Primary School No. 144 “Alfredo Chihumbue” to the Lunda-Sul Provincial Government in Txaungo, Saurimo municipality.

According to the provincial director of Education for Lunda-Sul, Perfeito Candondolo, the fully-equipped school has 15 classrooms and will be able to accommodate around 2025 students in the next school year spread over three terms.

The handover agreement was signed by the head of the Information Technology and Marketing Department of the Brilhante Foundation, Sidónio Sobrinho, and the head of Education in the province.

The school, which received funding equivalent in kwanzas to USD 2.3 million from ENDIAMA-E.P, was inaugurated in January this year by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo.
