Yetwene diamond project, in Lunda Norte, will be inaugurated on April 27th by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Diamantino Azevedo, revealed the Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jânio da Rosa Corrêa Victor during the press conference that made public the program for the launch of the commemorative events regarding to the Miner’s Day.
“Yetwene project has known mining geological prospecting work for about three years and that allowed finding economically exploitable reserves” he said.
The president of ENDIAMA, José Manuel Ganga Júnior, made it known that the feasibility study of Yetwene points to an investment in the prospecting phase of about 25 million dollars, structured for a production of about 10,000 carats/month, since the research activity is continuously evolving in terms of size and production capacity.
Besides the inauguration of Yetwene Project, the Angolan Miner’s Day celebrations also include activities such as scientific lectures in Luanda, inauguration of an elementary school in Huambo, and inauguration of a gold project in Buco Zau, at Cabinda province.
It is also scheduled a visitation to the Luaxe project, the inauguration of a new building headquarters for the administration of Catoca Mining Society and the ceremony of the end 1st training cycle of technical and professional courses at CEFOPE; a meeting with representatives of semi-industrial cooperatives of Lunda Sul, and the central act of the celebrations will be held at Lunda-Norte province.
