The Brilhante Foundation participated today, the 1st of June, in Luanda, in an event celebrating the International Children’s Day that has been promoted by the Ministry of Social Action, Family, and Women’s Promotion.
The party, having as its sponsor the ENDIAMA subsidiary- also a social branch of the Angolan diamonds sub sector -gathered in the urban district of Cabolombo, municipality of Belas, children from the various municipalities and urban districts of Luanda.
Faustina Alves, ministerial office holder (MASFAMU), was present together with the State Secretaries for Education, Human Rights, and the administrative authorities.
On the event’s sidelines, Bruno dos Santos, Brilhante Foundation General Manager, highlighted the contribution of mining companies in bringing comfort to children in the underprivileged communities in the country.
According to the responsible person, the benefits have been generated though the construction and rehabilitation of schools, health centers, and the opening of waterholes, stressing the execution of the “Pupil Catoca” program supporting 1,500 children from the Lunda-Norte, Lunda-Sul and Moxico provinces with the availability of a monthly Akz 12,000.00 grant per pupil to acquire material during the academic year.
