Martin Rapaport, CEO of the Rapaport Group, worked this Wednesday in Saurimo to see the implementation of social responsibility projects developed by diamond companies in Angola.
The visit was the result of an invitation formalised to Rapaport during JCK Las Vegas 2025, which took place this month.
The aim was to present and reinforce the Angolan diamond industry’s commitment to best practices in sustainable and responsible mining for the benefit of the community.
The extensive programme initially included visits to the Chicapa hydroelectric plant, CEFOPE, CEFOLAD and the KGK cutting factory.
This was followed by a visit to the Polytechnic Institute of Lueji Ankonde University, the 300 houses under construction in the town of Luele and the viewpoints of the Luele and Catoca mines.
Finally, the guests were also able to see the living conditions of the Catoca Mining Society’s villa, which is intended for the institution’s employees.
