The second day of JCK Las Vegas took place on Saturday 7 June in the United States.
The day was marked by the session on ‘Development, Sustainability and Social Responsibility through Diamond Mining’, organised by Angola.
The event, which was attended by delegates from various international companies in the diamond industry, aimed to promote the sustainable and responsible mining practices that have been implemented by Angolan companies for the benefit of the communities.
On the sidelines of the event, Laureano Receado Paulo, Director of ENDIAMA, made a positive assessment, and considered that the event was important for dispelling the scepticism that existed about the country.
For his part, Benedito Paulo Manuel, General Director of Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, emphasised the importance of the opportunity to add to Angola’s efforts to raise the profile of natural diamonds in the social response it gives to communities.
